The Strategic Plan provides directions and sets challenging targets for NRM in the Region. By doing so it provides guidance for the future investment decisions and actions of all stakeholders. This volume includes the vision, goals, guiding principles, resource condition targets (the long-term outcomes sought), management action targets (the medium-term outcomes sought) and the actions required to achieve these targets.

The Strategic Plan sets direction for the ensuing ten years and it will be reviewed and updated every five years. The Strategic Plan is a plan for the whole region and groups and individuals with an interest in NRM can contribute to the regional vision and goals by including complementary targets in their own plans and policy.
